But the idiot I bought it from let it sit for a year and he thinks that these issues are made up and that i'm just wanting my money back. I used to curse and swear at those old two-cycle. ![]() But the only problem when I bought it was turbo limp mode and it didn't go into limp mode when I test drove it and I gave it a good ride. In general, the only time oil gets into a cooling system is if the automatic transmission cooler fails (mounted inside the radiator) and, because the trans operates at a higher pressure than the cooling system, trans fluid gets pushed into the cooling system. I've read on other forums that the auto transmissions in these years aren't very trust worthy. I bought it for $3200 and I had to get a battery which wasn't cheap it was $180 and the car goes into turbo limp mode right when you go down the road and when you go into drive or reverse it takes a long time to and when you stop at a light its extremely rough to get it to kick in. This car has a lot of issues to begin with. Theres only one place where transmission oil can mix with the coolant - and thats the transmission coolant loop inside the radiator. If they aren’t leaking then check the coolant reservoir hose to see if the plastic tube isn’t cracked inside it. I have a 2012 1.8 cruze and have had 2 seperate coil packs go due to oil in the plug wells from a leaking valve cover gasket, well now I have a gutted front cat due to the same issue. I'm confused as to where it's coming from though because if it was oil (which I don't think it is) why wouldn't there also be coolant in the oil. Check for a leak on the water outlet assembly and also check both sides of the oil cooler bypass tube, especially the side under the exhaust manifold. ![]() So I'm just going to pressure test it and see if my head gasket is leaking. This recall includes the following vehicles which may be prone to transmission fluid leaks: 2018-2019 Chevrolet Cruze. I tested the oil cooler under the oil filter housing and there aren't any leaks. The latest recall affecting the Chevy Cruze was announced in 2020.
